Test of pearl-chain beam in SL-decks for bending, shear, and torsion

Research of the development area

Of topics in progress can be mentioned:

  • SL-deck elements, having larger flexibility, fixed end connections and longer spans, better fire resistance, and better acoustical properties than the concrete decks known until now.
  • Pearl-chain arch bridges, crossing a highway overnight. After more full-scale tests, the first is built across Vorgod River.
  • Carbon fiber reinforcement for reinforcement of pearl-chains and existing building structures.
  • Sandwich arches with 10 times larger load-bearing capacity for skew load than other arch bridges.
  • Beam-less buildings and deck elements with cast-in services,
  • Cupolas of plane deck elements and vaults in buildings.
  • Textile moulds with less mould-pressure and more possibilities.
  • Floating concrete structures with new casting techniques for that.
